Building a label in public
Why VANCE shares the messy middle — the toiles, the rejected cuts, the 2am edits — instead of just the finished look.
By Kairo Vance
Most labels show you the runway and hide the room. We do the opposite. Every capsule starts as a pile of mistakes on the studio floor in Brooklyn, and we’d rather you saw that than a perfect lie.
Process over product
A garment is a record of decisions. The weight of the wool, the line of a shoulder, the choice to leave a seam raw — each one is a small argument. Building in public means making those arguments out loud.
It’s slower. It’s also the only way the work stays honest.
